The Best High Intensity Workout You Can Get in Ames – in Just 30 Minutes!
What is Sweat?
Sweat is the newest addition to our programs here at CrossFit West Ames and we are so excited to be bringing this 30 minute sweat sesh to you! Sweat is all the great things about CrossFit without the strength emphasis you will find in our CrossFit program. So, think high-intensity, functional movements without barbells and with LOTS of core strength training all in one great “metcon-style” workout. The skill level will be kept pretty low in this class, allowing us to forgo any Prep Course requirement – what does that mean for you? YOU CAN START AT ANY TIME!
What to Expect
Your 30 minute session will include a briefing of the workout, a quick warm-up and skill overview, followed by the workout. We ask that you arrive 5-15 minutes early to do additional stretching or warming up as needed for your body, and to ensure you are checked in and ready to start right on time!
Many people think they need to “get in shape” before starting a program with a reputation like CrossFit, or a version of CrossFit like Sweat. We recognize this on many levels and strongly believe in fully preparing each individual for any of our programs. We also have extensive experience in modifying every single movement for members with varying athletic abilities. Sweat is designed to ensure each person who participates gets the best workout within their personal limits. If everyone is working for three minutes, one person may get 100 reps and another may get 10 – that’s great! As long as you are working hard, continually improving, and having fun there is no other performance expectation from your coaches.

Bridge to Barbells
Ready for more? Our CrossFit program is the answer!
Sweat will prepare your body with a great level of baseline fitness to transition over to CrossFit. The missing piece is your barbell knowledge. Well…that’s why we created a bridge course with Bridge to Barbells! This is a course that involves three, one-hour sessions where you will learn barbell etiquette, safety, and proficiency in our major lifts. We will not establish any max lifts – or use much weight at all. You will learn how to utilize your body properly and efficiently to move weight. Be ready for a flood of knowledge and three fundamental-intense sessions. You will end this course with the confidence you need to hit the ground running with your weight training! See our PRICING page for more information.
